Head Coach Julian Reese- Julian began his football career at Indiana State University before playing for the Amarillo Dusters in 2004. Julian led the Dusters as Quarterback to a championship in 2006. Julian came back to the Amarillo Venom as a coach after suffering an injury. Reese took over as interim head coach during the 2011 season and led to team 4-0. Coach Reese was hired as Head Coach for the 2012 season.
Julian Reese began his coaching career at Indiana State University in 2003 where he coached receivers. Reese moved to Amarillo in 2004 to play for the Amarillo team formerly known as the Amarillo Dusters and lead them to an Intense Football League championship in 2004 as the starting quarterback. Reese was a big part of the Amarillo organization from 2004-2005 and 2008-2010. Reese holds several Amarillo passing and rushing records, but was forced to join the Venom coaching staff after a rotator-cuff injury and a setback during rehabilitation following the surgery. Reese, who is in his first year coaching the Venom, also coaches at Austin Middle School in Amarillo and has been there since 2008. Coach Reese is married to Erica Reese and they have 3 kids; Angel (11), Julian II (AKA Deuce 1), and Jordan (AKA Trey 2 months). Coach Reese is the son of Charlie Reese Sr. and the late Janet Elaine Reese and is number seven of 13 children (9 boys and four girls).
